Bond model for SLS (Detail)

ENCSDEESFRITPTNLHURO

The perfect bond without slip between reinforcement and concrete for SLS was assumed in previous versions. However, results for stress in reinforcement, crack width, and non-linear deflection could be negatively influenced in some cases.

Version 23.0.5 and older

Stress limitations

Stress distribution over the length of a rebar.

Stress distribution over the length of a rebar

Crack width

The model's stiffness was increased through the rigid connection of the concrete and reinforcement rebars, resulting in a shift in the location of the maximal crack.

Deflection

The increased stiffness aforementioned had an impact on the deflections, resulting in lower values. This provides valuable insight into how changes in stiffness can affect the behaviour of the system.

Version 23.1

The bond model is implemented for SLS code-checks in version 23.1. This leads to smooth stress distribution over the length of rebars and then the correct calculation of the crack width and non-linear deflection.

Stress limitations

Stress distribution over the length of a rebar.

Stress distribution over the length of a rebar

Crack width

The bond model ensures slipping between reinforcement rebars and concrete, accurately identifying cracks and their distribution angle.

Deflection

The behavior brings higher deflections and more realistic behavior of the structures.
