A platform for engineers
VIKTOR is a platform that allows engineers to easily create and share web applications that automate their workflow using Python. The apps can also connect with different software packages, like IDEA StatiCa.
The platform is used by leading engineering and construction firms, such as JACOBS, Arcadis, WSP, and VINCI Construction to automate all kinds of design processes. For example, it is used to automate the design of the world’s longest submerged tunnel, Fehmarnbelt.

The Slab-Reinforcement tool
The Slab-Reinforcement tool allows engineers to quickly generate an ideal reinforcement configuration for any type of concrete slab. Whether it be a tunnel, a foundation, or a quay wall, the engineers can upload their designed construction (i.e. a SCIA Engineer model) and perform iterative IDEA StatiCa analyses based on EUROCODE 2.
The web application resulted from a joint effort by WSP, Heijmans, and Tauw and can now be used to save the engineer’s time, decrease risk, and allow for greater material savings in the construction.
